Creating animations for the gripping Netflix documentary Cyber Hell was both an intense and deeply rewarding challenge. The goal was to visually capture the dark, oppressive atmosphere of the story while conveying the raw emotions of the victims.
Director Choi Jin-sung initially envisioned a tarantula as a metaphor for the criminal who ensnared numerous girls in a web of cybersex trafficking. Building on this imagery, I developed spider webs as the central visual concept for the animation, symbolizing the intricate and inescapable trap woven by the perpetrators.
